Quick-acting single-turn electric actuators

Quick-acting (quick shutoff) single-turn electric actuator ensures locking of safety shutoff valve (SSV), for time 0,2 … 1 sec. Quick shutoff electric actuators are installed on protective shutoff pipeline valve with Nominal Diameter (ND) from 25 to 600 mm (with Nominal Pressure (NP) up to 1,6 MPa) – for natural gas and with ND from 20 to 150 mm (on NP up to 6,3 MPa) for black oil.

Produced quick shutoff single-turn electric actuators have general-industry performance (MBO type – quick shutoff single-turn mechanism) or explosion-proof performance (MBOV type – quick shutoff single-turn explosion-proof mechanism).

Explosion-proof electric actuators have explosion-proof Certificates and RTN permit for application.

The enterprise produces quick shutoff electric actuators of three nominal – with torques of the valve tightening in locked position equal 25, 63 and 125Nm. In opened valve position the given electric actuator accelerates torque 110,350 and 600Nm appropriately.

Quick shutoff electric actuator should be used only completed with control unit, excluding electric actuator MBOV-(40-125), having built-in electronic control unit. Use of quick shutoff electric actuator without standard control unit is forbidden.

If it is necessary to add to the set “electric actuator + control unit” auxiliary function – automatic locking of SSV in case of power outage for more than 3 second, BAZ-01M unit is applied optionally.

More up-to-date control unit BUP-M is developed instead of produced BUPU and BAZ-01M units. BUP-M has overall and connecting dimensions of BUPU unit. Function of BAZ-01M in BUP-M can be switched off from front panel of the unit. BUP-M unit is totally interchangeable with BUPU control unit, and with “BUPU + BAZ-01M” complete, in this case, external connections scheme remains without changes. BUP-M unit, as well as BUPU and BAZ-01M units – are not explosion-proof. When using with explosion-proof electric actuators, the above-noted units are placed beyond explosion hazard zone at a distance of up to 200 m from the actuator. Permit of Rostechnadzor for use of BUPU units, BAZ-01M and BUP-M is not required. BUP-M control unit, as well as BUPU and BAZ-01M units, is beyond the scope of supply of electric actuator, and has its own TS.

Quick shutoff electric actuator, having “Í” at the end of its designation, is interchangeable by fulfilling functions, overall and connecting dimensions and connection scheme with analogue by nominal quick shutoff electric actuators, not having “H” at the end of its designation. The difference is in operating principle of internal electromagnetic clutch-latch. Energization to clutch-latch is performed for valve quick locking in quick shutoff actuators, not having “Í” in its designation. Energization to clutch-latch is not performed in electric actuator, having “Í” at the end of its designation. Using the given actuator, automatic valve locking will be performed even in case of cable breakdown between the drive and its control unit. Quick shutoff electric actuator, having “Í” at the end of its designation, should be used only in complete with BUPU-N control unit. BUPU-N control unit functions as BUPU unit and BAZ-01M unit, thus, using of BAZ-01M unit in the given complete is not required. However, it is impossible to switch off the function of automatic valve locking in case of power supply loss for more, than 3 seconds in the given complete.

Power supply of quick shutoff electric actuator can be accomplished by two variants:

  • 1 variant – power supply of only single-phase mains 220V 50Hz (power consumption – not more 85 W);
  • 2 variant – power supply from two sources simultaneously: from single-phase mains 220V 50Hz (execution of OPEN control command) and from no-break power mains =220V (execution of LOCK command).

The required power supply variant is realized by means of corresponding drive and control unit connections (see connection schemes) and jumpers setting at BUPU control unit in corresponding positions (noted at the unit).
